Electrification

The Sevan units are geostationary and spread moored where a turret is not required.

Electrical swivels are not required, as the cables are pulled in through I-tubes and connected directly to the electrical system on board, hence no restrictions to voltage- and power capacity.

Power from Shore – Goliat FPSO

The Goliat FPSO, operated by Vår Energi, has been running on power from shore since 2016.

Length of power cables: 105 km (AC)
Capacity: 75 MW @ 123 kV AC

Power from Shore – Wisting FPSO

The Wisting FPSO is designed for full electrification with power from shore by high voltage DC. The project is currently put on hold.

Length of power cables: 300 km (DC)
Capacity: 105 MW @ 80 kV DC

Floating Substation

The concept is designed as a unmanned walk to work unit with all equipment arranged in the hull below the deck. The substation concept is designed for HV AC power distribution.

    Katoni Engineering

North Sea Electrification and Emissions Reductions

Sevan supported Katoni Engineering with hull design in an electrification study for NSTA (UK). The concept is based on local grids where a Main Hub with centralized power production distributes power to a number of Sub-Hubs.

    Blue Power Hub

The Blue Power Hub is the Sevan/Siemens Energy concept for offshore generation of electric power from natural gas with CCS. It facilitates for offshore power generation and distribution and can incorporate power from wind farms and power to shore.

The concept is now being developed for site specific requirements by the Blue Power group.

The Sevan units are geostationary and can accommodate a large numbers of cables

A large variety of offshore possibilities can be enabled through electrification of a Sevan unit. The geostationary cylindrical design allows for scalability and flexibility to meet the requirements for a various number of electrified applications.

The Sevan units are suitable for floating applications in harsh and cold environments
