The Sevan cylindrical floater concept has over the years been developed for various applications, also including CCS (Carbon Capture and Storage).
Recent development in the market and requirements of reduced CO2 emission given by the Paris Agreement have initiated several CCS-related prospects.
Stella Maris CCS
Sevan is participating in the Altera Infrastructure lead “Stella Maris CCS” project and we are developing a Floating Injection Unit (FIU). The FIU will be unmanned and located at the field for continuous injection of CO2 into the storage reservoir.
Blue Power Hub
The Sevan/Siemens Energy concept for offshore generation of electric power from natural gas w/CCS is now being revitalised and developed for site specific hub facilities and capacities by the Blue Power group. Power distribution offshore is the core business case, but power to shore and power from wind farms can also be incorporated in the Hub.
ZEG Power – Offshore
ZEG Power is developing their unique ZEG ICC TM technology for emission-free hydrogen production with integrated CO2 capture. Sevan is part of a research group developing a floater concept adopting the ZEG technology for offshore production of ‘blue’ hydrogen from natural gas with Carbon Capture and reinjection

The Sevan units are geostationary and can accommodate a large number of cables and risers
